Thurbo Estate sits right on the border of India and Nepal, just West of the town of Mirik on State Highway 12. The gardens lie at altitudes ranging from 762-1,890 M (2,500-6,200 ft). The estate was originally planted in 1872 and currently produces tea from China varietal, Assam hybrid and locally bred clonal varietals.
The name "Thurbo" is most likely an adaptation of the Nepali term "Tombu," which means tent. Reportedly, during the Anglo-Nepalese war of 1814-16 (the Kingdom of Nepal lost control of the Darjeeling region and Sikkim to the British as a result of this war), British troops set up a tent camp in the area that is now the Thurbo Estate, and eventually the term Tombu morphed into Thurbo.
Description :
A Super premium quality 1st flush Darjeeling tea plucked from the young clonal P312 and T4 clonal bushes of this premium tea garden of Darjeeling. The dry leafs are well withered and rolled and has a lot of small unbroken tips in it and is extremely wiry in appearance.
The dry leafs gives out a very delicious aroma of roasted nuts, slightly spicy and fruity aroma in this state. When steeped for completely 4 minutes the cup gives out light yellow liquor. Each sip has multiple layers of exotic flavours which clearly reminds of roasted nuts, slightly lemony, spicy, a hint of freshly baked biscuits can also be felt at the end of each sip.

- Nádherný čaj sklizený výhradně z lístků oblíbeného kultivaru Pb 312.
- Čaj je složen z většího množství stříbřitých tipsů a dvou horních lístků
- Jasný zlatožlutý nálev s dominantními ovocnými tóny, které jsou typické pro kultivar Pb312.
- Chuť po exotickém ovoci, oříškách, lehký citrusový nádech, na konci můžete cítit lehce chuť čerstvě upečených sušenek
- Dávám 10/10 bodů
Tip na přípravu:
- Gaiwan 170ml, 4g, 95°C – 45s/50/60/70/80 Záleží dle chuti, i při delších časech není nálev hořký.
- Skleněná konvička 150ml, 90°C, 5g čaje a dvě minuty
Tenhle čaj je doopravdy moc povedený. Z toho, co jsem letos ochutnal, mi přijde jako jeden z těch nejlepších. Úplně mi k němu nesedí ho zalívat vroucí vodou, opravdu si jí na chvilinku nechte raději odstát. Pokud máte možnost se k němu dostat, tak určitě ochutnejte.
