MARGARET'S HOPE GOLDEN DELIGHT, 2ND FLUSH 2013, DARJEELING – EXCLUSIVE

MARGARET'S HOPE GOLDEN DELIGHT, 2ND FLUSH 2013, DARJEELING – EXCLUSIVE

Margarets Hope is a world famous name when it comes to Darjeeling Tea. Earlier known as Bara Ringtong, it was started in 1830 as a small plantation and became commercially viable in 1864 with this variety of plants from China. The current Margarets Hope Tea factory was set up in the year 1930 by Mr. John Taylor with Mr. Longsin’s help (a Chinese businessman).

The unusual name ‘Margaret’s Hope’ was given to the garden in 1927 by the then owner Mr. Cruikshank. His daughter, Margaret, enchanted by the beauty of this garden was deeply attached to the place. Before leaving for England, she promised to return but unfortunately died of a lethal tropical disease on board the ship, never to return. Thus in her memory, her father changed the name to Margaret’s Hope. Find the different teas grown in Margaret’s Hope below:

Description:

MARGARETS HOPE GOLDEN DELIGHT is a delightful offering from the MARGARETS HOPE TEA ESTATE. The appearance of this tea is very different from the traditional clonal teas. Hats off to the Estate Manager Mr. J. C. Pande who with his experience and passion for tea has delivered a masterpiece for the tea connoisseurs.

  • Category : black Tea
  • Flush : 2nd Flush 2013
  •  Origin: Darjeeling, India
  • Tea Farm: MARGARETS HOPE TEA ESTATE.

The manufacturing of this tea has been different compared to the normal 2nd Flush clonal teas. The tea is less fermented adding to the delicacy of this masterpiece. Each sip gives you a floral mouthful which ends with a slight vegetative note. A perfect balance and by far one of the best clonal teas in offering this season.

A must try for the tea connoisseurs.

STEEPING INSTRUCTIONS:

Fresh water brought to 1st Boil. Add 1 tea spoonful per cup to the pot. Steep for 3 to 5 minutes. Strain to cup and sip as it cools.

We do not recommend adding milk or sugar since this can mask some of the intrigue and subtle nuances of this vintage tea.
